Happy New Year!
I trust you and your families had a
blessed holiday season. Here’s wishing you much
love, health, happiness and peace as we begin 2016.
First on the agenda, I want to thank Kelli Arison and
the entire Golf Committee for their generous donation
made to our Auxiliary for our small part we played in
the golf outing in Sept. The money will be used to
support our veterans.
Our Pig Roast fundraiser was a huge success. Thank
you to everyone who participated and worked hard to
make it a memorable event. The goal was to bring the
Post, Canteen, and the Auxiliary together and that was
accomplished. Thank you.
We recently had a tree trimming party at Friendship
Village for the residents. It was well received and we
came away feeling the holiday spirit. Afterwards, we
had an Auxiliary gift exchange get together. Everyone
seemed to enjoy the evening.
A big thank you to Sandy Roberto and Diane Keremes
for taking charge and making and distributing blankets
and lap robes to the VA Hospital in Oakland. We also
enclosed a monetary donation.
On Sat, 12 Dec, we hosted the kids Christmas party at
the Canteen. What fun! The children loved the talking
and singing with Santa, Mrs Claus, and the elves.
Jeanne DelBusso did face painting on the children and
made beautiful ornaments for each child. Thank you.
Jeanne, you are truly awesome! Check it out on the
Post web page: www.vfw764.org
Sandy Coglio and I will be attending the Mid Winter
Conference in Gettysburg in late Jan. There will be a
lot of workshops including a question and answer
period. If anyone has an concerns or issues to be
discussed, please jot your questions down and give it
to me at our 13 Jan regular meeting. Please remember
your contribution item for our coffee themed basket
that we will be making to take to the conference as our
donation to the cancer table. Thank you.
We will be making a visit this spring to the Ronald
McDonald House and we plan an event at the Fisher
House. Details to follow.
Our Auxiliary Christmas tree is still decorating the
Post entry way by the front door with mittens, scarves,
hats, socks, etc. These items are very much
appreciated and will be given to the Womens Shelter in
Thank you for your continued support of our Auxiliary
and the reasons why we exist.
