News: Ladies Auxiliary
09/29/2015 - by Donna Auyer - Auxiliary President
I understand our Auxiliary has approximately 135
members. Where are you? We need your help! Our
National Officers strongly encourage that members get
involved and exercise their rights and express their
opinions. I quote, “...As we Believe in America’s
VETERANS, we must also retain our membership and
continue to work with our members, include the new
members into the mix, ask them to be a part of
fundraising and special events. Be a mentor, take them
under your wing, show then who we are, what we do,
and why we do the things we do...” Ladies, you need
to attend a meeting, go through initiation and take your
oath receive your membership pin and have your
sponsors explain why we exist which are the objects
and aims of our Auxiliary. You will be notified by
mail of our upcoming Initiation Ceremony at our 14
Oct meeting. Please RSVP by 11 Oct.
Again, we need your help and participation in a very
worthwhile organization to support our VETERANS.
Our current project is planning a Pig Roast event to be
held on Saturday, 24 October, starting a 4PM at $12
per ticket on sale at the Canteen and $15 at the door.
We’re asking Auxiliary Ladies who attend to bring
cole slaw. We want a variety - no two kinds are alike!
Don’t forget your Grandma’s recipe! All of the food
dishes will be provided. We will need members to
help serve and clean up. Also, we need “assistants” to
help prepare the pig for his debut! (A lot of last
minute details will need to be done). Any volunteers?
Please call Donna to sign up at 412-427-4898. Come
and enjoy a fine evening. I hope to see some new
faces as well as old ones!
