Citizens of Peters Township, and friends of neighboring townships
assembled Sunday, August 6, 1944 at 7 o'clock in the evening on the high
school grounds to pay tribute to those who are sacrificing everything, in
order that we may live and enjoy the democratic way of life. This
tribute was paid by a dedication of the Honor Roll for all the members of
the armed services.
Each guest, deep in his or her heart, said a
silent prayer, that our boys might come back home safe and sound to their
normal way of life, in a place of their choosing.
